China's Top Ten Lakes Tour

China's Top Ten Lakes Tour

Last time I went to Qinghai Lake, the surface of the lake was so vast that I couldn’t see the edge at a glance. I had never seen such a big lake in my life, and it shocked me. I felt like the world had become much wider.

After coming back, I thought to myself, why don’t I go and see all the big lakes in China?

I checked and found out, wow, the top ten lakes in China, each one is as beautiful as a painting!

It makes my heart itch, I wish I could buy a plane ticket and fly over right away.

1. Qinghai Lake

Let’s talk about Qinghai Lake, which I have been to before. It is the largest lake in China, a saltwater lake, with water and sky merging into one color. It’s truly beautiful!

Cycling around the lake is a classic gameplay. Rent a bicycle and ride it slowly. Along the way, you can see continuous snow capped mountains, vast grasslands, and herds of cattle and sheep. Relax and be at ease, this is life!

Being immersed in it, I felt like I had stepped onto a desktop. The screen was so beautiful that I couldn’t even hold my phone!

At noon, I found a place to eat by the lake and tried the local specialty dish - grilled lamb chops. The taste was absolutely amazing!

It’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a strong aroma. Paired with a glass of barley wine, it’s simply a delicious delicacy on earth!

Imagine sitting by the lake, blowing a gentle breeze, eating grilled meat, drinking a little wine, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. These days, even immortals don’t change!

2. Poyang Lake

I have been to Poyang Lake twice, in the northern part of Jiangxi Province. It is the largest freshwater lake in China and also the largest wintering ground for migratory birds in Asia.

The first time I went was in autumn, coinciding with the season of migratory birds. Thousands of birds flew from Siberia to spend the winter here, and the scene was quite spectacular!

The dense flock of birds, covering the sky and sun, is magnificent, with various bird calls ringing in my ears, making me feel like I am in an ocean of birds!

The fish in Poyang Lake are also unique, especially the Poyang Lake fat fish head, which has delicious meat and melts in the mouth. If you have the opportunity, you must try it!

Last time I went to eat a dish called “chopped pepper fish head”. The fish head is very big and covered with red chopped peppers, which makes it very appetizing. It tastes even more spicy and satisfying, with an endless aftertaste!

3. Dongting Lake

The time I went to Dongting Lake was in summer, in the northern part of Hunan Province. It is the second largest freshwater lake in China and has been known as the “800 mile Dongting Lake” since ancient times.

In summer, when you go to Dongting Lake, you must take a boat, blow the wind on the lake, and look at the green mountains in the distance. It’s so relaxing!

The lake is shimmering with ripples, and in the distance, there are continuous green mountains. The scenery is beautiful and refreshing, making people feel relaxed and happy. It feels like all the troubles have disappeared into thin air.

I also experienced the feeling of sitting on a fishing boat, watching fishermen cast nets to catch fish, it had a unique flavor.

Their skilled movements make it easy to see that they are old fishermen who have been working for many years, which makes people exclaim that this is the true way to rely on mountains to eat and water to drink!

Junshan Island by the lake is also a place worth visiting. The island has beautiful scenery and many historical relics. You can learn about the history and culture of Dongting Lake and experience the wisdom of the ancients.
